There are more accomodations near Yosemite National Park than there are in it. The park is surrounded by myriad towns and communities and they provide a welcome backup for those not fortunate enough to be able to stay within the confines of the park. There are hotels, motels, lodges, cabins, vacation rentals, B&Bs, inns, and campgrounds, and prices and availability are generally more favorable than Yosemite.

Nearby hotels

  • Jamestown Hotel: west of Big Oak Flat entrance in the small community of Jamestown, this 1850s hotel has cosy rooms and is in California's Gold Country near Dodge Ridge ski resort.
  • Groveland Hotel: Not far from Jamestown in Groveland, this place is modern with a vintage look. Rooms are ensuite with queen beds - suites have spa tub and fireplace – and breakfast comes with the deal.
  • Hotel Charlotte: An inn-cum-hotel in the town of Groveland on Highway 120, this place is small with just 10 rooms and boasts the well known Café Charlotte. Condo-style rooms and deluxe rooms are both available.

  • Tenaya Lodge & Cottages: A 240-room lodge located near the south entrance and in reach of Fish Camp and Wawona. It is a modern place with a great range of rooms and facilities.
  • Cedar Lodge: Located near the west entrance of Yosemite National Park with affordable rooms that come with kitchenettes. Spa tubs are also onsite.
  • Evergreen Lodge: A relaxed mountain setting with great hospitality, nice rooms, extensive facilities and reasonable prices.
  • Mariposa Lodge: Comes with 45 modern rooms to the southwest of the park in the historic mining town of Mariposa.

Nearby inns and B&Bs

There are more inn-type accommodations near Yosemite National Park than any other type of accommodation. Many are not much more than glorified bed and breakfasts, but there are also some exclusive places worthy of mention.

  • Chateau Du Sureau: One of the nicest accommodation options near to Yosemite, Chateau du Sureau is a beautiful place which carries a Five-Diamond award and stunning rooms, grounds, setting, and facilities.
  • Tin Lizzie Inn: A popular B&B which has just a few rooms that are very well appointed. Tin Lizzie isn’t cheap, but it offers a personalized experience in nice surroundings.
  • Comfort Inn at Oakhurst: A safe bet near to the south entrance of Yosemite in Oakhurst. The inn has comfortable rooms while the town of Oakhurst has the best facilities in the region, with plenty of shops and eateries.
  • Yosemite Inn: Situated west of Yosemite on Highway 140, Yosemite Inn is popular with families and is a well priced accommodation option.
