Vacation Rentals Yosemite

Details on all the different types of vacation rentals Yosemite has to offer visitors.

Vacation rentals Yosemite are more flexible than the other forms of lodging within Yosemite National Park, which is traditionally one of lodges, hotels, and campsites overseen by the National Park Service. They often have better facilities, are better placed and can also be booked online.

Vacations rentals inside Yosemite

There aren’t actually that many vacation rentals within the park itself, with the majority and best choice being outside in the surrounding communities. There are some to choose from, though, which are invariably located in choice spots.

Vacation Homes: A substantial vacation rental set-up with 11 lodges in the Foresta area of the park. Foresta is around 10 miles to the west of Yosemite Valley off Big Oak Road (western entrance). One, two and three-bedroom vacation rentals can be had here and they are well equipped with kitchens.

Scenic Wonders: Featuring a variety of accommodation from condos to luxurious cabins well within reach of Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point, and the Badger Pass ski area. Single rooms can be had in the studio condo up to multi-bedroom homes at Chateau Royal West and Chateau Royal East.

Yosemite Four Seasons: With well furnished homes and apartments both within Yosemite and outside. Four Seasons vacation rentals Yosemite has studio condos for under $120 for two people, as well as loft condos, suites, apartments, and full-blown homes. The homes sleep six people and are around $300 per night. Four Seasons Yosemite is just 10 miles from Yosemite Valley, 16 miles from Glacier Point, and six miles from the ski area. Facilities include indoor and outdoor hot tubs, toys and games, hiking equipment, kitchens, and TVs.

Vacations rentals outside the park

There is better choice outside Yosemite for vacation rentals and they are often cheaper for comparable facilities. Highways 120 (east and west), 140, and 41 are the three routes that serve all Yosemite entrances and they have several communities and towns with vacation rentals Yosemite. They include El Portal, Groveland, Mariposa, Fish Camp, Oakhurst, Mammoth Lakes, among others.

Oakhurst is the nearest main town, lying about 15 miles south of the southern entrance on Highway 41. It has loads of vacation rentals for Yosemite and also comes with the best town-like facilities in the region, with restaurants, stores, and bars. Farther north is Fish Camp, the closest settlement to Yosemite. Groveland is another major accommodation base and it lies on the main Highway 120 a few hours’ drive from San Francisco. Meanwhile, El Portal is a popular option as it is right next to the second western park entrance and is served by the Yosemite YARTS bus.

Booking Yosemite vacation rentals

You can book vacation rentals Yosemite by calling, or by booking online where you can often receive discounts by doing so. Most of the hotels, lodges, cabins, and campgrounds in Yosemite are booked through a centralized system operated by the park, yet vacation rentals are independent. Wherever you stay and whatever time of year, be sure to book in advance as the place is full, always.
